Assault charges filed against Bland A Prince George County employee has filed assault charges against County Councilwoman Marilynn M. Bland (D Dist. 9) of Clinton for allegedly shoving him and cursing at him earlier this month. Wallace Short, the director of the Prince George County Youth Commission, filed a second degree assault charge Sunday against Bland, the county Circuit Court clerk elect, with a District Court commissioner. In the complaint, Short alleges that Bland got angry with him for starting a Nov. 17 swearing in ceremony of the youth commission without her, and that she pulled him outside the room by his shirt collar to yell at him for it. The ceremony was held in the County Administration Building in Upper Marlboro. Short could not be reached for comment Monday. Bland chief of staff, David Billings, responded to questions for her and said he was not made aware of the alleged incident. don understand what is going on, Billings said.
